SERENITY APPLICATION FORM

Instructions:

- Please check the list of classes we are recruiting at the Class/Recruitment Availability
- Copy and paste this form into a new thread in the Recruitment forums.
- Truthfully answer ALL of the questions in the application. Incomplete applications will be denied on sight!

Before you even bother, have you read our guild rules and goals? Does it corresponds to what you are looking for?

(X) YES ( ) NO Note: by ticking YES, you agree to follow the guild charter.

In game name (including previous names if any):

Age: 41

From: The Netherlands

Class and build:
> Druid, Feral Tank spec 0/55/16 Goldar
(This is the class and specc we expect you to be raiding with, and this is the specc we hope you wish to be playing with. No main-alt changing and no specc changing without approval from the GMs.)

Dual Spec: (Please state which 2nd spec you have with the new dual-spec system and comment your gear for it).
> Restoration 14/0/57

Alts (please comment if you intend on bringing them in the guild and if not, why?):
> Goldshade a mutilate rogue. He's not that well geared as I don't play him that much. I know the mutilate rotation intimately so I can get the max out of it on single target.

Link to your Armory, CTProfiles, or RPGOutfitters page? (If you are not using your raiding specc because of PvP or whatever reason, please link the raiding specc you will be using):
> Done above.

Former guilds (on Bronzebeard or on your current realm):
> I'm on this realm since November 2005 and I've been around a bit so I know quite some people. First guild I was in was Driven, early 2006. That was my most hardcore time, when Driven and Scholars of Light were competing for server firsts. When I left Driven, I was the Druid class leader (main spec resto then). After that been around a bit (Chimera, Irregulars) but couldn't find my spot really.

Why did you leave your former guilds?:
> What I want in a guild is a relaxed atmosphere while still being serious about raiding and doing the utmost best to proceed. What I learned on this realm is that this is quite a challenge to find. I've always left the guilds I've been in on good terms; it's always the combination that just didn't work out like I wanted it to be. Lack of focus on cracking end game content but supporting the idea that it has to be shared with having a job is the main reason I've not been in a guild lately.

What is your former raid experience (pre-TBC, TBC, WotLK)?
> Pre-TBC: Zul'Gurub-10, Molten Core-40 (server second behind Scholars of Light), Onyxia-40 (server second again) and first boss BWL-40 (Razorgore) with Driven. In Driven-2 (a year or so later in TBC) Gruul's Lair-25 in TBC. Shared raid with Irregulars in Zul'Aman-10. In WotLK I was GM of Simulacrum, that was intended to be a 10-men raid guild. That worked fine in the beginning, we cracked Naxxramas-10, Obsidium Sanctum-10, and Malygos-10 quickly (around end-2008), but the guild basically died because of lack of appropriate recruits. After that I joined Legacy of Heroes where we went 11/14 Ulduar-10, did TotC-10 with them (unguilded), did ICC-10 3/4 in a PuG (failed at last boss because of weird raid setup). I've done about 7/14 in Ulduar-25. Due to me being so long on the server I know a lot of people and so I do raid a bit now and then. The latest raids I've done either as tank or as healer; my gear is good enough for the highest raid content I think. I don't have that much experience in hard modes, but that is something more for the focused raiding guilds that I've not been in lately.

Why do you want to join Serenity?
> I know Themark from my time with the Irregulars and had a small chat with him and I've reviewed the information on the web site. From that information it looks like this guild has the balanced amount of social aspect plus focus on cracking end game content that I look for in a guild so that I can be an asset to the guild. I always put more into a guild than I think the guild puts in me; I'll pass on an item if I think it's better overall for a guildie to gear up. I am in favor of trial periods and I want to stress the fact that this is a mutual thing. I'm all for the guild to try me out, but it's also a time for me to decide if the guild is a place that I feel comfortable in.

Do you have open applications to other guilds?
> No.

Any member in Serenity that can vouch for you?
> I know Themark from the Irregular days, at the opening of AQ. We see eachother something like once every 3 months in Dalaran or a Battleground and chat a bit or just say hi :) Also I know Hugz and Ellybelle; they have alts in Legacy of Heroes

The important questions now. Please take a moment to think about those before you answer.

This is probably the most important question. We are a raiding guild, and even though we do not force anyone into raiding, we are expecting players that will join us to show interest in raiding at least 3-4 days each week. Are you interested in raiding several days a week regularly???
> Yes; I know what it is like going back to 2006, so I know what I'm getting into. I have that time available.

We do not spend a lot of time on farmed content, but we do spend a lot of times on progression, which means a lot of wiping with often very little progress. This is how we kill hard bosses and push the content. Is that what you are interested in?
> I'm actually a bit irritated with the ease the epics are given out nowadays. In WoW Vanilla if you saw someone wearing an epic you knew it meant something, they had gone the extra mile to get it. Nowadays the idea of epics is much inflated. There is no greater pleasure for me than to wipe 3 nights on a boss and finally figure out the right way to beat him. That's why I like end-game content.

Can you play at our official raiding times which are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 9pm - 1am server time?
> Yes. I do have obligations now and then, like monthly folk dancing on a Wednesday or spending Christmas with family. I expect attendance required is not 100%. If it is, I withdraw my application as I can not commit to that. 80+% is doable for me though.

Can you log on to the Serenity website to read what is happening and sign up on the raid calendar each week whether you can attend raids or not?
> Yes.

Do you intend to show up for raids prepared, PVE raid specced, repaired, enchanted, gemmed and with a proper set of buffs (food buffs and potions/flasks)?
> Yes.

We are using a Zero-Sum DKP system, do you agree with this? (X) YES ( ) NO

thanks for applying, we always appreciate when someone writes more than minimum yes to questions.
We will review your application over the week, but with new content we have very high competition for 25 man raid spots, so an immediate raid spot would be unlikely, it depends how patient you can be with 10 man ICC raids spots to start with.

In response to your remark Igby, I'm not very demanding. I'm quite happy taking a back seat for quite a while if that's required for the guild to progress while I'm gearing up for example (I've been guildless for several months and I'm still enjoying the game to backup that; there are always goals to pursue). This is assuming I get my chance some time being part of the raids that push for new bosses when I put in my effort. As stated, I quite like a beating at the time, figuring out new content is the part of this game I especially like. Sitting on the bench forever, being appropriately geared but never picked I'm sure noone would like. As long as the intentions are clear it's fine with me. I have no problem with having to prove myself.

I think what Igby meant, is that we have a rather full roster right now to run 3 ICC10 clear and 1 ICC25 clear every week. So apart from when we need specific classes to fill in (most of the times healers/tanks for ICC10), we are currently full.

We are not considering recruiting players to eventually start rotating them with current raiders. It's not really about earning a spot, being geared or proving your worth.

It is more about the fact that it would simply not be fair to take away the very limited raid spots from those already raiding with the guild and giving that to someone we recruited while we were already full.

I think the only hope you could have, is that there is always people who eventually stop playing, leave the guild or get bored until the next patch.

If you are thinking medium/long term, I could see this working. But I can assure you that short terms (next few weeks), all we could offer you would be replacement spots, alt raids and that sort of things..

Just wanted to make it clear with you what you could expect.

OK, there seems to have been a misunderstanding then. I understood from the information I had that the guild could use a druid for raiding. As stated, if I'm in a raiding guild I'm especially interested in cracking new content so then this is not the match I'm looking for. Thanks for clearing this up; I withdraw my application and wish you good luck with your guild.
