In game name: Skibba

Class: Rogue

Race: Night Elf

Level: 70

Current build: 19/42/0 Combat Swords (Mace in MH as that is the best item available to me at the moment)

Professions: Blacksmithing (375) Enchanting (375)

Rare or useful recipes/formulas: Mongoose, +threat on gloves, -threat on cloak, 20 agi on 1h weapon, 35 agi on 2h weapon.

Flying mount?: Yes, epic flying mount.

Age: 26

Country: England

Keys and Attunements (Pre-BC): Onyxia, MC, BWL

Keys and Attunement (BC): All heroic keys, Kara & SSC (although that is no longer needed)

Current gear and why you use it. Please give us an idea of your current gear:

http://armory.wow-europe.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Khadgar&n=Skibba

I have 5/5 T4 armor with S2 Arena offhand and Tier 3 Blacksmithing mace mainhand. Both are +95dps weapons. All other non tier gear was gained through raids and heroics and is as far as im aware the best that is available to me in order to maximise my dps output.

I frequently visit specialist class forums and Elitist Jerks theorycrafting forums and use a spreadsheet that models Rogue dps against level 73 raid bosses, so I make sure that I gem/enchant/gear my character as best as possible.

Time you are typically online during the week and the weekends?

I play most nights during the week but I work shifts so it will change from week to week. Saturdays I am on all day long but tend to go out with friends in the evenings. Provided I know which days the raids are happening, I will be signed up and available any weekday that you need me.

Can you play at our planned raiding times which can be any day typically from 9pm - 1am server time?

Yes, but once every 5 or 6 weeks I wont be online until 9:30pm due to a late shift at work.

Is this your main character? Yes

Former guilds on Bronzebeard? None, I would be transfering from Khadgar, where I am currently in a guild called Unity.

Why did you leave your former guilds? I havnt left yet as I enjoy playing with my guildies, but due to their early raid times I can only join them for 2 weeks a month. I want to raid and want to progress but lots of people in my guild have gone back to college/uni/school after the summer, so 25 man raids are only happening once a week.

Why do you want to join Serenity? I want to join Serenity because im looking for a group of people who share the same desire to see and beat all of the raid content within World of Warcraft. Im looking for a guild which raids slightly later than most other guilds so that I can join all raids that im needed for, and Serenity seem to be on a similar level of progression as what I have played at, and play later than most guilds.

Any member in Serenity that can vouch for you? No. I dont know anyone on Bronzebeard. I am currently on Khadgar.

We are planning on using a Suicide Kings loot distribution system, do you agree with this? (YES) YES ( ) NO

Describe yourself and why we should pick you:

I know that you are not currently recruiting Rogues, but I also looked at your raid sign up and noticed that no Rogues have signed up for any of the upcoming events so thought i'd try my luck and post an application anyway.

I feel that I can offer the guild a skillful, mature player who is prepared to put in the time and effort necessary to achieve our goals. As previously mentioned within the application I am dedicated to gemming/gearing/enchanting this character as best as possible to maximize my dps and what I contribute to the raid and the guild.

Outside of WoW, I love sci-fi and fantasy (big Next Generation and Stargate SG1 fan) and I love anything to do with dragons and RPG's. I used to play everquest for a number of years. I also love music and going out to gig's to see rock bands like 80's matchbox B-line disaster, Sonic Youth, Pixies etc. I snowboard when weather/money permit. I have a girlfriend and she doesnt play WoW, but doesnt mind me playing and likes to watch if she is at mine on raid nights...... im still working on getting her to start playing though :)

Other information that you may want to share with us that may affect your application (work, family):

I dont live with my family or my girlfriend. I live with a couple of friends so I wont have any 'Mum wants me to do my homework' interuptions, or any 'girlfriend wants me to help cook dinner' interuptions.

I work shifts which range from 8:30am - 4pm, which is my earliest shift, or the latest being 12:30 - 8pm (all GMT, so latest I will ever be online is 9:30 server time, which is once every 5 or 6 weeks)

(YES) I have read the Forum sticky: Intro to Serenity
(YES) I have read the Forum sticky: Guild Rules and Goals

Thanks for taking the time to read my application. Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers

You have amazing good gear, and you sound like a very skilled player and a nice guy.

It would be ashame if we didn't recruit this guy.

;)

Hey Skibba :-)

Very good application, your gear is great and you seem like a nice guy that can raid regularily. As you said there has been a lack of signups from the rogue squad due to RL situations, and we could need one more rogue with exeptional gear. Therefor, we have decided to let you in for trial.

Hope you will have a good time in Serenity!

Thank you very much.

I will create a character on Bronzebeard to have a quick chat with someone in the guild and so you have a point of contact whilst im waiting for the server transfer to complete.

I will request it tonight, so it is in Blizzards hands when i'll be with you :)

Look forward to meeting you all

Please be as fast as possible mate. We might need 1 more strong melee dps for Al'ar fight, but if you wait more, he will die for the first time without you taking part :)
Kind regards

I spoke to Nera ingame about some concerns I had with the lack of signups for raids throughout September and October based on the information on your raid calender.

I'd love to join you but I dont fancy paying to transfer server if the guild is not actively signing up for raids and raiding when scheduled too. I have cancelled raid nights at the moment on my server, so based on this, I would like to withdraw my application.

Thanks for considering me, and I wish you all the best in the future.

Take care

As for today the guild is in very good shape, and we are progressing on bosses for every raid we do. I cant guarantee you this will be the situation in two months, but which guild can?

When it comes to signups, some people are still not signing up for raids, and it will therefor be a bit misleading to look on the raidcalendar.

I understand guilds cant promise what will happen in 2 months time, it is the nature of the game sadly, but as you say, the raid calender seems to be quite misleading.

If you say Serenity is raiding on all of its scheduled raid days then I will take your word for it. Looking at most raids in September of October though it does look like they would have been cancelled.

If raids arent being cancelled all over the shop then I would be happy to transfer and would arrange for this today, as I have now been paid :-)

Let me know if you still want me.

Cheers

Sorry but i did not get one point; do u want to join us only to be able to join more raids or do u realy care about being in a friendly, casual guild with more suitable raid schedule which suits into your requirements?

I want to join as your raid times suit me perfectly, and from what I have read on the forums you seem like a mature guild, but at the same time I want to raid, which is why I was concerned about the lack of signups on your raid calender, as a raiding guild is what I am looking for.

If you still want me to transfer let me know an i'll arrange for it today.

Take care

I think one 25 man raid has been cancelled in the last month due to lack of signups, thats not much imho :)
