I've never juggled chainsaws, but I have done knives, viking axes, live hand grenades and mortar bombs. And 16lb (7.5kilo) bowling balls.

My party piece was 1 60g ball, one half kilo ball and a 2.5 kilo ball - that takes real concentration.

But my favourite was always passing - like I am in the pictures with my mate Mike from York.

The secret is to catch the torches where the fire ISN'T.

Job done.

Knives are a standard prop, I juggled Viking axes at a fete in Goole near Hull when there was a Viking Battle Recreation group showing. The hand grenades was at Catterick Garrison when I was up visiting a mate in the Green Howards Regiment. IIRC the mortar bombs was on Salisbury Plain because a squaddy bet me I didn't dare, so I showed him I did.

Grenades are safe with the pins in. And believe me, anyone trying the trick of pulling the pin with their teeth would lose teeth, as the pins are in really tight.

Mortar bombs are a bit more tricky as the fins hurt a bit, but they don't fuse until they are fired from a mortar, so they are reasonably safe also (the soldier didn't know I knew that).

The axes had long handles so they slapped quite hard landing, so they were the most painful to juggle.

And juggling knives aren't sharp - although I once juggled 3 Sabatier carving knives at a Food Fair - which was a really stupid thing to do.

I can juggle 5 balls or ball shaped things. 4 juggling clubs or similar shapes on my own or 7 between 2 people.
